About Nus Young Fellowship Programme 2026  

The NUS Young Fellowship program is a collaboration between the NUS  Graduate School and the School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE). It serves  as a bridge for talented international students to experience the academic  excellence of Asia’s top-ranked university. The 2026 cohort will explore the  interdisciplinary applications of Artificial Intelligence across engineering,  biomedicine, and social sciences. 

Objective of Nus Young Fellowship Programme 2026  The Scholarship aims : 

To provide high achieving undergraduate students with a deep dive into the  graduate research ecosystem. It aims to cultivate It aims to cultivate the next  generation of global innovators by exposing them to advanced research  methodologies and interdisciplinary AI applications. Through direct  interaction with world-renowned faculty and peer-to-peer collaboration, the  program seeks to sharpen participant’s research thinking, enhance their academic communication skills, and encourage them to pursue advanced  Master’s or PhD pathways at NUS in the future.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Senior undergraduates (Year 3 or above) 
  • Students with strong academic records 
  • Individuals with diverse personal, academic, or professional backgrounds 
  • Candidates with notable achievements beyond coursework, such as leadership, research, innovation, or  community engagement 

Assessment Process

The selection is highly competitive and follows a holistic review: 

  • Technical Screening: Verification of eligibility and document completeness 
  • Holistic Evaluation: Review of the Personal statement,CV and academic Transcripts 
  • Final Selection: Results are typically announced via the application portal in April 2026

Required Documents

  • A detailed CV (maximum two A4 pages) 
  • A personal statement or reflective essay (maximum 1,000 words) addressing  either: 
    • A research area of strong personal interest, including its anticipated  development 
    • A current social issue or concern of significant personal relevance,  including individual insights on potential resolutions 
  • Academic transcript (optional although highly recommended) 
  • Two letters of recommendation (optional, but strongly encourage applicants to  provide recommendation letters from faculty members who can specifically attest  to their academic/research potential for this programme) 
  • Passport-size photo

  • Hybrid Immersive Format: A month long experience combining one week of in person lectures and lab visits  in Singapore with three weeks of structured online research tutorials  
  • Advanced Focus: The 2026 theme is “ AI and Graduate Research “ emphasising how artificial intelligence is transforming research methodologies across engineering, Science  and Humanities. 
  • Zero cost Participation: There is no application or Tution fees . The program is fully sponsored by the  NUS Graduate school and the school of continuing and lifelong Education.
