Objective of Manipur Scholarship 2026
The Primary objectives are :
- To provide monetary support to students from economically disadvantaged families particularly those belonging to SC, ST, OBC and EBC.

1. NEC Merit Scholarship, Manipur

Eligibility
- Students pursuing a technical or professional diploma, degree, postgraduate, MPhil, or PhD can apply for this scholarship.
- Students must have secured at least 60% marks or above in the qualifying examination.

- The student must pursue full-time studies in Classes 9 and 10 at a government school or a government-recognised school can apply for this scholarship.
- The annual income of the family must not exceed ₹2,50,000.

Assessment Process
- Once the application is submitted online it goes through verification at three levels first by the Institute nodal officer then cross-checked by the District welfare education officer and at last Director of the respective department in Manipur. Final review of eligibility based on scheme income and academic criteria before moving to the ministry level.
- After state-level verification is complete, the application moves to the central department. Central checks all the criteria and the merit list and finally sanctions the scholarship money.
- The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student’s bank account through the PEMS system ( DBT) .

- Review the application and click Final submit. Once submitted no changes can be made.
