UGC invites Application for Stripendium Hungaricum scholarship is an education exchange programme agreement between the Ministry of Human Capacities , Hungary and the Ministry of Education in India aims at providing scholarships to Indian students to pursue various level of studies . Selected students will receive full financial coverage for study . It is open to applicants till 15 January 2026 in Tempus Public Foundation of Hungary and 22 January 2026 of UGC in India.

Eligibility Criteria
The Following criteria includes:
- Applicants must born on or before August 31, 2008.
- Applicants must have scored at least 60 percent marks in the last qualifying examination from a recognised educational institution.
Assessment Process
Assessment of applicants for the scholarship :
- Technical Check: Initial screening of documents by the Tempus Public Foundation.
- Nomination: UGC Reviews applications and send a Nomination List to Hungary.
- Institutional Evaluation: Nominated Candidates went into entrance exams or interviews conducted by Hungarian Universities.
- Final Allocation: Selection based on the result and interview performance
Financial Benefits
The scholarship provides full financial coverage, including complete exemption from tuition fees, a monthly stipend depending on the level of study, free dormitory accommodation or a monthly housing allowance, medical insurance, and travel support.
The number is distributed with 50 scholarships for undergraduate courses, 75 for postgraduate courses, and 30 for PhD applicants. Another 40 scholarships are offered for part-time postgraduate ourses and research, while the remaining five are for interpreter, translator and literary translator studies.

Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Academic Mark sheet of class 10 or Birth Certificate with CGPA to Percentage Conversion sheet.
- A copy of the passport or any valid Indian identity proof.
- Print out of the online Tempus application ( signed ).
- Complete UGC form.
- Medical Certificate of Satisfactory health.
- For PhD – Research Plan , two recommendation letters and supervisor statement.
